NAIROBI — The 59th Annual Meeting of the Board of Governors for the African Development Bank (AFDB) concluded on Friday, May 31, 2024, at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi. The meeting ended with a significant transition of leadership.

According to Kenya News Agency, During the ceremony, Cabinet Secretary for National Treasury Prof. Njuguna Ndungu handed over the chairmanship of the Board of Governors to Mr. Philippe Lasmel, who is the temporary AFDB Governor for Côte d'Ivoire. This handover sets the stage for the next annual meeting, which will be hosted by Côte d'Ivoire in 2025.
