Nahouri — The Shalom de Pô Clinic was recognized as one of the top health facilities in Burkina Faso, securing third place in the national health facility certification, as announced on Friday, June 6, 2024. The ceremony, highlighting the clinic’s achievements, was presided over by the Minister in charge of National Education, Jacques Sosthène Dingara.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Ministry of Health oversees the certification process, which assesses health facilities based on the performance of their quality management systems. The goal of this process is to foster a competitive environment among healthcare providers and to motivate personnel through recognition of their efforts. The Shalom de Pô Clinic, established just eight years ago, ranked highly among 113 clinics evaluated nationwide.
Dr. Romond Sia, the clinic’s general director and a specialist in hepato-gastroenterology, emphasized that this achievement is a call to all staff for continuous improvement and collective commitment to maintain or enhance their ranking. He sought further advice and support to address upcoming challenges effectively.
Dr. Anata Doro/Soré, the regional health director for the Center-South, lauded the clinic on behalf of the health department, noting that the Shalom Clinic’s success is a testament to its staff’s dedication to excellence. “With a score based on more than 208 criteria and totaling 921 points, their third-place achievement reflects their commitment to superior care,” she stated, encouraging other facilities to emulate Shalom’s high standards.
The ceremony also featured remarks from Auguste Kinda, the High Commissioner of Nahouri province. Representing the governor of the Center-South region, Kinda praised the clinic’s staff for setting a benchmark in healthcare and expressed hope that their diligence would inspire other facilities.
Adding to the event’s community spirit, the Shalom Clinic made a significant donation of food worth 500,000 CFA francs to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Nahouri province, demonstrating a commitment to social responsibility alongside their medical achievements.
