Nahouri: The P´ prison administration and local residents organized a sanitation operation at the municipal cemetery in P´, marking the second edition of the National Days of Patriotic Commitment and Citizen Participation (JEPPC).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the clean-up initiative was supervised by Assetou Ouattara, director of the P´ remand and correctional center. The event saw participation from prison administration staff, local residents, and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), along with the traditional chief of sector No. 1.
The activity aimed to mobilize the local population and contribute to the broader goals of the JEPPC initiative. Ms. Ouattara emphasized the symbolic and concrete nature of the effort, highlighting its role in fostering civic engagement and aiding the social reintegration of prisoners through community participation.
Ms. Ouattara stated that both the cemetery and the prison are places people generally avoid, yet they are important community spaces that require dignity and responsibility in their upkeep. The director expressed gratitude to all participants for their involvement and support.
High Commissioner Si© Aristide Mohamed Kam and Ilassa Dianda, president of the special delegation of the commune of P´, also commended the participants for their dedication and mobilization during the event.
