The Civic Training and Citizen Skills Development Center (CFCPAC-BF), organized on March 18, 2023 in Pô, a coffee-debate on the use of social networks for the benefit of young people in the said locality .
Social networks occupy a very important place in information and communication techniques (ICT) but, it must be recognized that their use and the lack of mastery by many consumers, constitute a danger for the users themselves and for the whole nation.
It is therefore to bring consumers of social networks to the responsible use of this communication tool that the Center for civic training and development of civic skills (CFCPAC-BF), organized a coffee debate on March 18, 2023 in Pô for the benefit of young people.
The activity was placed under the theme: social networks channels of communication, expression and claim in Africa, issues and realities: the case of Burkina Faso.
The journalist, Franck Pougbila and the communication and security expert, Lébouré Crépin Zanzé, hosted two presentations.
These communications focused on African youth and particularly that of Burkina Faso faced with the challenges of social networks, and social networks and community stigmatization: risk of social fracture, leakage of confidential administrative documents in social networks, social networks and security crisis, mobilization levers.
The panelists showed the importance of networks in the development of a Nation and the key role that social networks play in the security crisis that Burkina is going through, if they are used well.
The participants, while appreciating the initiative, committed to being relays with members of the community to raise their awareness of the responsible use of social networks.
They invited the leaders of the center to multiply these kinds of debates towards the youth and the other social strata.
For the President of the center, Kassoum Ouattara, this activity is of capital importance for young people, in the sense that it will allow consumers and particularly young people to use social networks to do business on the one hand and else think twice before posting anything.
Ouattara said that recommendations will be made to the authority at the end of the center’s activities.
