Nahouri Provincial Consultation Framework Aims to Secure PONASI Corridor

Nahouri: The first ordinary session of the Nahouri Provincial Consultation Framework (CCP) was held this Thursday, June 25, 2026, in P´. Chaired by the Secretary General of the Nahouri Province, Emile Hien, representing the High Commissioner, the members discussed security and concerted local governance of Corridor No. 1 of the P´-Nazinga-Sissili (PONASI) ecological complex.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the consultation frameworks are essential venues for exchanges, dialogue, coordination, and information sharing between different actors involved in the development of the province. Emile Hien highlighted that these frameworks provide opportunities to pool experiences, enhance complementarities, and ensure coherent interventions for the benefit of the populations.

The session included a presentation by the NGO ULB Coop©ration on their activities in Nahouri, focusing on securing and governing Corridor No. 1 of the PONASI complex. Emphasis was placed on the role and complementarity of local authorities, civil society organizations, and state services. The discussions also involved the sustainable improvement of incomes and living conditions, particularly for women and young people living near the corridor, while contributing to environmental preservation and restoration.

Jos©fa Som©, the country coordinator of the NGO Ucoopia/ex ULB-Cooperation, emphasized that their interventions are centered on promoting agroecology, sustainable resource management, strengthening local capacities, and supporting community initiatives. The provincial secretary general commended the technical and financial partners supporting Nahouri's development.

Emile Hien acknowledged the relevance of the debates and recommendations, praising the mobilization of local actors dedicated to improving living conditions, promoting social cohesion, and ensuring population safety. This initiative was supported by the NGO Ucoopia/ex ULB-Coop©ration.
