According to Burkina Information Agency:ccording to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the Provincial Union, Saibou Kawolobou, highlighted the fair’s objectives, including promoting product distribution, facilitating exchanges among stakeholders, and identifying sustainable market opportunities. Challenges such as crossbreeding with imported breeds, prevalent diseases, and market saturation by broiler chickens were noted as significant obstacles to the sector’s growth. Kawolobou emphasized the need for local producers to organize and combat these issues, aligning with the event’s theme of local poultry and entrepreneurship.
Governor Massadalo Yvette Nacoulma/Sanou, representing Head of State Captain Ibrahim Traor©, commended the Union for executing the event amid difficulties. She reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting various initiatives in the region, acknowledging the socio-cultural significance of chicken farming. The governor encouraged youth participation in regional development and assured continued government support for the professionalization of poultry producers.
The event also rewarded outstanding local poultry producers and included a blessing from the customary chief of P´, His Majesty P´-P´. Additionally, a new battle feed manufacturing unit capable of producing four tonnes of feed per hour was inaugurated. The fair was sponsored by Samuel Tahoura, president of the Dakola freight forwarders association.
