Pô—The bodies of Nahouri province, led by the Secretary General Sanfiénalé Joseph Sirima, visited Binger's hut in Tiakané on May 22, 2024. This visit was part of the second edition of National Heritage Month, which runs from April 18 to May 18.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the visit aimed to encourage the local population to explore their heritage sites. The village of Tiakané, located 8 km west of Pô, is home to Binger's hut, situated in the royal court of Tiakané. The hut is part of a set of compartments used as hiding places during tribal wars. In 1887, explorer Binger was sheltered there by the village chief to escape kidnappers. The visitors, guided by Issac Lirmon Bouliou, learned about the history and significance of the site. Sirima urged residents to preserve and conserve these heritage sites for future generations. The day concluded with exchanges between visitors, notables, and resource people from Tiakané.
