Nahouri: The deputy of the Grand Imam of P´, El hadj Hamadou T®etiembou, invited the Muslims of Nahouri to show solidarity with the interned displaced persons and support the transitional authorities, on Monday, March 31, 2025, at N©maro Square in P´, during the Eid Al Fitr prayer marking the end of 30 days of fasting.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Muslims of Nahouri gathered on Monday, March 31, 2025, to observe Eid Al Fitr, marking the conclusion of Ramadan’s 30 days of fasting. The deputy of the Grand Imam of P´, El hadj Hamadou T®etiembou, led the prayers at N©maro Square in P´, stepping in for the Grand Imam, who was unavailable.
Following the prayer, Mr. T®etiembou urged the Muslims of Nahouri to demonstrate solidarity with the interned displaced persons and to support the transitional authorities. He emphasized the importance of praying and offering blessings to the fighting forces working to reclaim national territory and to the transitional authorities, wishing them strength in guiding the country’s future.
Provincial authorities, including the High Commissioner of Nahouri Province, Si© Aristide Mohamed Kam, commended the Muslim worshippers and encouraged them to continue offering blessings and prayers for the restoration of peace in Burkina Faso.
In a show of interfaith solidarity, the Christian community also attended to support their Muslim counterparts. Father Ernest Compaor©, the vicar of the parish of P´, led a significant Christian delegation and emphasized the importance of spreading messages of peace, cohesion, and unity in both churches and mosques. He highlighted these values as essential for Burkina Faso to regain its former peace.
El hadj Abdoulaye Gnan©, the president of the Muslim community of Nahouri, urged his fellow Muslims to celebrate the occasion with moderation.
