Pô, AIB- The third edition of Zecco’s youth maracana tournament closed its doors on Saturday March 11, 2023 with the victory of the “Awoua FC” team, 2 to 0 against that of Ziou officials. This final took place in the presence of the sons and daughters of the locality and several guests.
Started on December 11, 2022, the Zecco Youth Soccer Maracana Tournament closed its doors on Saturday March 11, 2023 with the final. In total, 16 teams from the municipalities of Zecco and Ziou competed for three months in a spirit of brotherhood and fair play.
The winner “Awoua FC” received a trophy, an envelope of 50,000 FCFA, two balloons. The team, “civil servants of the municipality of Ziou” pockets the sum of 40,000 FCFA and two balls while the teams ranked third, fourth received respectively 30,000 FCFA and 25,000 FCFA and one ball each.
Before kick-off, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the defense and security forces who fell in defense of the homeland. The customary and religious authorities of the commune also prayed for the FDS and the VDP engaged in the theaters of operations. This third edition knew the effective presence of the godfather, Ahmed Karfo, director of SILICON -BF, son of the locality.
The prefect of Zecco, moreover, president of the special delegation of the municipality of Zecco, Etienne Sanglan, who presided over the ceremony, took the opportunity to congratulate the organizers for the theme chosen because, according to him, without the effective involvement of youth in this fight against insecurity efforts will be in vain.
According to the promoter, Alidou Bakiéka, the tournament aims to unite the sons and daughters of the communes of Zecco and Ziou so that everyone can contribute to the return of peace to Burkina Faso.
Mr. Bakiéka indicated that during the competition, the populations were made aware of the theme of social cohesion, living together, close collaboration with the defense and security forces and to support the Volunteers for Defense of the Fatherland (VDP ).
The theme of this 3rd edition is: “role and place of youth in the fight against insecurity”.
