Nahouri/Maracana Youth Tournament: Pyramid FC Team Crowned Champions with a Score of 1-0

Nahouri: The 12th edition of the Toungou Youth Maracana Cup, held in the commune of Ziou, concluded with Pyramid FC emerging as the champions by defeating Winsongré FC with a score of 1-0. The tournament's closing ceremony took place under the leadership of Salam Marané, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Ziou commune. According to Burkina Information Agency, the tournament was themed "Fraternity and Cohesion of the Youth of Toungou and Surrounding Villages." It brought together eight teams from various communes, including Ziou, Zecco, Tiébélé, and areas from neighboring Ghana, competing over two weeks in a spirit of fair play. Salam Marané praised the organizers for their excellent initiative, emphasizing the importance of social cohesion and harmonious living between the people of Toungou and those from neighboring Ghana. These values are highly sought after in the Ziou commune and Burkina Faso as a whole. Ernest Toa Sia, President of the organizing committee, highlighted that the tournamen t was not just about competition. It also featured development projects, such as the construction of a river crossing costing 3 million CFA francs and a donation of pharmaceutical products worth 500,000 CFA francs to the local primary healthcare center (CSPS). Pyramid FC's victory in the tournament earned them the trophy, a cash prize of 40,000 CFA francs, a ball, and a set of jerseys. Meanwhile, Winsongré FC received 30,000 CFA francs, a ball, and a set of jerseys. Other participating teams were also awarded prizes for their efforts. This 12th edition of the tournament was sponsored by Jérémie Karfo and Nathanaël Sagha Sia, both natives of the commune. Traditional leaders offered prayers for the armed forces deployed in the war zones before the ceremony began.
