Guiaro: Monique Bazie, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Guiaro municipality, launched the third edition of the Guiaro Youth Solidarity Maracana Cup on Sunday, January 25, 2026. The team from the village of Pore won the opening match against the team from the Imono neighborhood, with a score of 1-0.

According to Burkina Information Agency, under the theme "Youth, sport and citizenship: together for a clean, secure and sovereign Burkina Faso", 14 teams from the commune of Guiaro, a locality located about thirty kilometers west of the city of P´, will compete for 2 months to win the trophy of this 2nd edition of the Guiaro Youth Solidarity Maracana Cup.

In launching the activities of this third edition, the president of the special delegation of Guiaro, Monique Bazie, invited the people and the decentralized technical services of Guiaro to unite in order to consolidate the gains made in the field of security.

"Through this activity, we want to create closer ties, foster interaction, and strengthen relations between the people and the technical services of the municipality," the municipal authority emphasized.

In this opening match, the Pore village team defeated the Imono district team by a score of 1-0.

The grand final will therefore take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
