Nahouri/Hygiene: The CCI-BF Provides the P´ Prison with Ten Rubbish Bins

Nahouri: The director of the P´ prison, Assetou Ouattara, received ten plastic trash cans on Thursday, March 5, 2026, in P´, to improve hygiene within the prison. The initiative was launched by the Burkina Faso Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI-BF).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Burkina Faso (CCI-BF) made a significant gesture in support of the P´ Detention and Correction Center (MAC-P´) on Thursday, March 5, 2026. The consular institution donated sanitation equipment to the P´ penitentiary.

Kalehd Ou©draogo, from the markets and supplies department of the CCI-BF, stated that this donation, consisting of ten 200 m³ plastic bins, aims to strengthen hygiene measures at the MAC-P´ prison. He explained that the initiative reflects a commitment to supporting public institutions in improving living conditions, including in prisons, where waste management poses a daily public health challenge.

Mr. Ou©draogo emphasized that this action demonstrates that national solidarity does not stop at the prison gates. "By investing in the sanitation of the MAC-P´ prison, the Chamber of Commerce is showing that the Burkinab¨ private sector remains a key partner for social well-being and human dignity," he stated.

After receiving the equipment, the director of the P´ Detention and Correctional Center, Aiss©tou Ouattara, thanked the CCI-BF for the donation, emphasizing that it would support the sanitation efforts already undertaken by her department. "This donation is a breath of fresh air for the environmental management of MAC-P´. Maintaining rigorous hygiene is essential for the health of both inmates and staff," she stated.

The director of MAC-P´ also appealed for the organization of workshops for the inmates. "These workshops will help occupy the inmates' time," Aiss©tou Ouattara explained.
