Nahouri: The High Commissioner of the province of Nahouri, Auguste Kinda, chaired a pivotal meeting on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in Pô, marking the first session of the health council for the year 2024 within the Pô health district. The session focused on a detailed examination of the district’s activities for the first semester.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the council members reviewed several key aspects, including the district’s performance indicators for the initial half of the year, the proposed 2025 annual work plan, the involvement of management committees (COGES) in overseeing health facilities, and the current condition of the district’s ambulances.
High Commissioner Kinda emphasized the importance of the meeting as a platform to address health issues and service inefficiencies. He expressed his desire for the session to be participatory and inclusive, aiming to enhance the district’s performance.
The extensive discussions, lasting over four hours, revealed satisfaction with the pro
gress made in various district activities. However, challenges such as the inadequate training of COGES members following their renewal and maintenance issues with ambulances were highlighted.
To address these challenges, an appeal was made to the presidents of the special delegations to ensure the installation and training of new COGES members and to prioritize ambulance maintenance.
Despite the challenges and limited human resources, participants commended the dedication of health workers operating across the province’s localities. They pledged to bolster good governance within the health district to deliver quality health care to Nahouri’s population.
