Nahouri: The Federation of Evangelical Churches and Missions (FEME) of Nahouri, offered food, on Friday, January 10, 2025 in Pô, to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of the province of Nahouri. It was the High Commissioner of the province of Nahouri, Auguste Kinda, who received the donation.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the generous contribution to the Internally Displaced Persons in Nahouri province included 80 bags of 25 kg rice, 10 boxes of CITEC soap, and 7 cans of 20-liter oil. The president of FEME, Pastor Luc Piouyiri, emphasized that displacement is an unfortunate circumstance that compels individuals to leave their homes.
Pastor Piouyiri stated, “We have decided to come to the aid of these people who have left their locality by force of circumstances and this is justified by two reasons which are the recommendation of the Lord Jesus Christ and the desire and the will of the Burkinabe government inviting all communities to support these IDPs.”
Christine Bassorobou, representing
the IDPs, expressed gratitude for the assistance, acknowledging the warm reception they have received since their arrival. She added, “Our wish is that peace returns so that we can return to our respective localities.”
High Commissioner Auguste Kinda commended the humanitarian effort, urging FEME and other faith groups to continue praying for peace and social cohesion in Burkina. Following the donation, the FEME delegation prayed for the nation’s leaders, hoping for the strength necessary to guide the country’s future.
