Nahouri: The High Commissioner of the province of Nahouri, Auguste Kinda, chaired this Saturday the official ceremony for the handover of social infrastructure for the benefit of vulnerable children in the commune of Pô. According to Burkina Information Agency, the initiative is from the child development center (CDE12-06) of the Maranata church of Pô in collaboration with the NGO Compassion International Burkina Faso. Consisting of latrines, a children's playground, a water tower, and a solar electrification system for the center, this set of infrastructures built at the child development center (CDE 12-06) is the result of a partnership between the Maranata church and Compassion International Burkina. For the pastor of the Maranata church in Pô, Jonas Yabouambou, the goal of this center is to equip these young children and make them responsible, autonomous, and fulfilled adults. "Its mission is to make children known, loved, and protected by freeing them from poverty on a holistic level," he said. The con struction of these infrastructures is in addition to several activities carried out for the benefit of the center's residents and their parents. Mr. Yabouambou cited, among other activities, health insurance that ranges from 90% to 100% depending on the case, support for parents in income-generating activities, and provision of food, clothing, and toiletries for those most in need. The pastor of the Maranata church in Pô continued by indicating that the center supports vulnerable schoolchildren up to the age of 22. He committed to the beneficiaries to take care of these jewels and use them responsibly. In addition to these achievements, Mr. Yabouambou hoped that the center would have a fence so that the children would be safe. The center, opened in 2020, has as of today, 295 vulnerable children benefiting from the program whose age is between 3 and 5 years old and 23 people who work there. Also, the center benefited from another program called "survival." This program consists of identifying vulnerable wome n who are three months pregnant and babies from 0 to 6 months in order to monitor and support them. The High Commissioner of the province of Nahouri, Auguste Kinda, praised the center's missions, which are centered on the child. For him, this will prevent vulnerable children from falling into delinquency. Auguste Kinda invited all the actors involved in the center to take ownership of the infrastructure so that it benefits the entire community. At the end of the ceremony, the religious authorities prayed for the transitional authorities, the return of peace to Burkina Faso, and for the fighting forces engaged in the reconquest of the national territory.
