Nahouri: The High Commissioner of Nahouri Province, Sié Aristide Mohamed Kam, presided over the flag-raising ceremony at the Pô Provincial High School, marking the first edition of Student Teacher Recognition Week (SRE). He acknowledged the important role of teachers in society.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the driving forces of the Nahouri province, along with the students of the provincial high school of Pô, paid tribute to the teachers of the province as part of this inaugural event. The occasion was highlighted by the singing of the national anthem in the Kassena language and a message from the High Commissioner, Sié Aristide Mohamed Kam, under the theme “Tribute to the teacher, the linchpin of my education and my training.”

Mr. Kam emphasized the significance of the day, expressing a desire to restore teachers to their rightful place in society as builders of destinies. He remarked on the often-overlooked truth that without teachers, there would be no doctors, engineers, ministers, or even
a High Commissioner. Teachers, he noted, are essential for an enlightened future and a prosperous nation.

Addressing the teachers, Mr. Kam acknowledged the immense and sometimes thankless nature of their mission, while underscoring its fundamental importance. He encouraged students to express their gratitude towards their teachers, not only through words but also through respect, commitment, success, and good conduct.

Mr. Kam concluded by stating that the greatest reward for a teacher is witnessing their students grow into responsible and accomplished individuals.
