Nahouri: The National Food Security Stock Management Company (SONAGESS) facilitated the sale of 667 bags of rice and 40 tons of corn at social prices for the residents of the province of Nahouri. This initiative took place on March 17, 2025, offering rice in 30 kg bags and corn in 50 kg bags at 10,000 CFA francs each.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Aïda Denise Tegwendé Ky, a sales agent for SONAGESS, stated that the truck sale is designed to address the food needs of the populace during a time of high consumer demand. The sale required individuals to present a valid national identity card, with priority given to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) and vulnerable groups.

The sale of corn took place at the Nahouri high commission courtyard and the town hall of Pô. While the rice attracted significant interest, the corn sales experienced less traffic on the first day.

Residents expressed appreciation for the sale organized by SONAGESS, voicing hopes for a continuous supply to ease their ongoing food
security challenges.
