OUAGADOUGOU: Nadège Yé of Éditions Sidwaya was awarded the 2023 Marie-Soleil Grand Prix on Saturday, recognizing her as the best female journalist of the year. She also received accolades in the written press category, marking a significant achievement in her journalistic career.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Yé’s recognition continues a tradition of excellence for Éditions Sidwaya, as the publication’s journalist Mariam Ouédraogo received the same honors last year. The awards were presented by the Norbert Zongo National Press Center, an organization that annually acknowledges outstanding contributions in journalism. This award pays homage to the late Marie Soleil-Frère, a Belgian-Burkinabe journalist renowned for her work on African media.
The accolade underscores the ongoing dedication and talent within Éditions Sidwaya, highlighting the impact of female journalists in the field. The Norbert Zongo National Press Center, through this award, aims to inspire journalistic excellence and commemorate
the legacy of Marie Soleil-Frère.
