Zoundwogo: Naaba Yanbolobo II was enthroned on Saturday as chief of the Bind canton by a delegation sent by His Majesty Mogho Naaba Baongo, supreme authority of the Kingdom of Ouagadougou, during a solemn ceremony called "yiki¨r." This marks the official beginning of his reign, which is based on continuity and customary legitimacy.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was marked by a strong popular mobilization and took place in the presence of numerous local authorities, people from the region, as well as traditional dignitaries from several localities in the country. Naaba Yanbolobo II succeeded Naaba Sanem as head of the Bind canton. On this occasion, the village chiefs under his customary jurisdiction took turns offering their congratulations to the new dignitary of the royal court, their hands laden with symbolic gifts.

Following the consecration rites conducted by emissaries from the royal court who came from Ouagadougou, a local notable indicated that this installation constitutes "a call for unity, social cohesion and community development." As a sign of the centuries-old ties and fraternity between the communities, a large delegation of traditional chiefs from the neighbouring province of Nahouri, led by the Kamb-Naaba of Nobr, made the trip to take part in the ceremony.

Speaking on behalf of the dignitaries of Nahouri, their spokesperson expressed wishes for a "good and fruitful reign" for Naaba Yanbolobo II, while praying that his authority would bring peace, social cohesion, and prosperity to the whole canton. He also recalled that the respect due to the traditional chief "honors all of the Mogho and the whole of Burkina Faso," before inviting the notables and the people to show deep respect to the customary cap.

With this enthronement, Naaba Yanbolobo II now fully enters into the exercise of his traditional functions, with the mission of preserving ancestral values and ensuring the well-being of his subjects.
