OSHAKATI — The Mwadhina Gwanembenge Combined School is hosting its second annual sports tournament this weekend at the University of Namibia’s Oshakati campus. The event will feature 39 teams from four regions competing in football and netball.

According to Namibia Press Agency, school principal Immanuel Aron announced that the school has allocated N.dollars 20,000 to ensure the successful execution of the tournament scheduled for Saturday and Sunday. The competition will see participation from 20 boys’ football teams, seven girls’ football teams, and 12 netball teams, with all teams hailing from the Oshana, Oshikoto, Ohangwena, and Omusati regions.

“This tournament is strictly for our Combined schools in the north, to give our little ones a platform to have fun and showcase their talents,” Aron stated. He emphasized that the event is more than just a competition; it’s a chance for students to engage with one another and enjoy a day full of sports activities, contributing to their holistic development.

Additionally, the school received sporting gear from Old Mutual and Nawa Pharmacy, enhancing the resources available for the tournament and further supporting the participants.
