Muslims, Christians, and Traditional Leaders Unite for Collective Breaking of Fast in Dissihn

Ioba/dissihn: Muslims, Christians and traditional leaders united for a collective breaking of the fast. The Muslim community of Dissihn, under the leadership of its president Harouna Zabda, organized on Friday, March 13, 2026, a collective breaking of the fast which brought together Muslims, Christians and customary authorities, in the presence of the president of the special delegation of the commune of Dissihn, Benjamin Nana.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Harouna Zabda, president of the Muslim community of Dissihn, stated that this initiative aims to promote religious tolerance, interfaith dialogue, and social cohesion among the various groups in the community.

Under the banner of spiritual strengthening, sharing, and charity, this collective breaking of the fast mobilized many worshippers and community leaders who came together in a spirit of fraternity.

For Father Kussiele Samson Poda, parish priest of Saint Ther¨se of the Child Jesus in Dissihn, the event provided a favorable and ongoing framework for exchanges between the religious and traditional leaders of the community. "Religions should not divide us, but rather unite us. And that is a strength," he emphasized.

The president of the special delegation of the commune of Dissihn, Benjamin Nana, praised the initiative of the Muslim community. He believes that a lack of communication between religious leaders can undermine social cohesion. "I thank the president of the Muslim community, the priest, and the traditional chief. May what we are doing tonight be a first step for us and a major step for future events," he declared.
