Muslim Worshippers Pray for Peace

Ouagadougou: Muslim worshippers in Leo, in the central-western region, like those in other localities, celebrated Eid al-Fitr on Monday, March 31, 2025, marking the end of the month of fasting. On this occasion, they prayed for peace in Burkina Faso.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Eid al-Fitr, marking the end of the month of fasting, was celebrated this Monday, March 31, 2025, in Leo, under the banner of peace and sharing. Muslim worshippers, dressed in their finest attire, gathered in various places of worship in the "city of tubers" to pray to Allah to accept their worship and wishes.

At the Sector 3 mosque, the religious leader, in his sermon, emphasized the importance of living together and sharing in this spiritual period. He also spoke of the collective responsibility to maintain social peace, solidarity, and demonstrate acceptance of differences. The religious leader also prayed for all the country's authorities and for the return of lasting peace to Burkina Faso.

The fourth pillar of Islam, the month of Ramadan lasts 29 or 30 days depending on the appearance of the crescent moon. It is a period of prayer, fasting, and sharing for the Muslim faithful.
