Zoundw©ogo: Muslim women in the province consider the education of children a sacred duty. The women of the Provincial Coordination of the Circle for Islamic Studies, Research, and Training (CERFI) of Zoundw©ogo organized a three-day seminar in Manga on Saturday dedicated to the education of children according to Islamic principles. The seminar brought together administrative authorities, religious leaders, community leaders, civil servants, and parents to reflect on educational challenges and practices in accordance with Islamic principles.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the event was held at the Manga girls' community center and centered around the theme: "Children's education and responsible citizenship". Z©nabo Zoulabou, who oversees women's affairs at CERFI in the Nazinon region, stated that this seminar should serve as a case study in family education for a more responsible society of tomorrow. She encouraged participants to engage with the content to address the challenge of educating children who spend significant time in streets and on social media. The days of reflection aim to impart strong moral values to children, she emphasized.
Today's speaker, Moussa Sond©, highlighted that Islam regards education as a sacred duty. According to him, education extends beyond religious instruction to encompass the holistic development of the child-spiritual, moral, social, and intellectual-so they may become useful contributors to society. Several other presentations followed, focusing on education according to Islamic principles, the strategic role of the Muslim woman as an educator, and breast cancer.
The speakers reiterated fundamental principles related to children's rights: respect for the inherent dignity of the child, the rights and responsibilities of the child, the balance between love and discipline, and the importance of parental example. Excerpts from religious texts were quoted to support these presentations.
