Muslim Faithful in Tenkodogo Pray for Peace During Tabaski 2025

Boulgou: Thousands of Muslim worshippers gathered on Friday in Tenkodogo, located in sector 4 of the city, to pray for tolerance and the return of peace in Burkina Faso. The prayers were part of the Tabaski celebrations, an important religious event.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the prayer was led by the Grand Imam of Tenkodogo, Elhaj Mahamoudou Sana, who emphasized the importance of tolerance and efforts toward consolidating peace in his sermon. The Imam invoked Allah for peace in the country and support for authorities and forces engaged in reclaiming Burkinabe territory. Additionally, he prayed for a favorable winter season.



Colonel Aboudou Karim Lamizana, the Governor of the Centre-East region, participated in the prayer session along with a large delegation. This group included defense and security forces, representatives from different religious communities, and traditionalists. The governor highlighted the importance of prayer as a means to foster social cohesion and peacebuilding in Burkina Faso, while extending holiday wishes to the region’s Muslims.



His Majesty Naaba Guiguempol©, the Dima of Zoungrantenga, performed sacrifices of a rooster, a sheep, and an ox, seeking blessings for peace and stability in his kingdom.
