Sourou: Musician Pierre Drabo celebrated his ten years of radio broadcasting and five years of musical career on Saturday, May 2, 2026 in Tougan, his hometown, with a live concert that filled the town's multipurpose hall. Known by the nickname "The Calm Man", Pierre Drabo connected with his audience in a festive atmosphere, marking a double celebration: a decade behind the microphone as a radio host and five years of musical career.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this concert organized in Tougan is a way to give thanks to God, to thank his fans for their constant support, but also to salute the efforts made by the fighting forces of Sourou as well as the resilience of the local population. 'Tougan is my home. A few years ago, we didn't dare organize such an event. If today I decided to celebrate my 10 years of radio broadcasting and my five years of musical career here, it is thanks to the remarkable work of the FDS and the VDP, supported by a resilient population,' he said.
The musician also indicated that this choice was a deliberate act of commitment. 'I could have done it in Ouagadougou. But as an artist, my microphone is my weapon. It's my way of fighting for my province, Sourou,' he added. Among the audience, Abdoulaye Drabo made no secret of his satisfaction with the quality of the performance. 'I was amazed by the artist's talent. He offered us a top-notch show. Tougan needed such a concert. Since the start of the insecurity, no artist wanted to come. Pierre Drabo is reviving the city's artistic scene. We wish him an excellent future in his career,' he rejoiced.
The event's sponsor, Djeneba Deme, president of the traders of the large Tougan market, praised the initiative and reaffirmed the commitment of the market women to support the artist. 'Pierre Drabo is an artist who listens and is close to the people. He is leaving Ouagadougou to come and support us in Tougan. In return, we are ready to support him for the success of his career,' she stated.
