Municipality of Koumbia: the inaugurated bus station

The High Commissioner of the province of Tuy, Issiaka Segda proceeded, on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, to the inauguration of the bus station of the municipality of Koumbia.

The Koumbia bus station includes a waiting hall composed of ticket offices, offices and latrines, an entry and exit gate, an entry and exit gate and a fence. Added to this is a car park, an administration, shops and a road with boarding quay. At a cost of more than 161 million FCFA, the infrastructure built on one hectare, was carried out by the Support Program for the Development of Local Economies (PADEL).

High Commissioner Issiaka Segda proceeded this Tuesday, June 20, 2023, to the inauguration of the jewel marking the official opening of the bus station.

The regional director of economy and planning of Hauts-Bassins, Souleymane Bamogo, representing the national coordinator of PADEL, was delighted to see the effectiveness of the construction of this jewel.

The PDS of the commune of Koumbia, Boukari Zono, for its part, expressed its gratitude to the leaders of PADEL. He reassured that the municipality will be alongside the management committee (COGES) of the station for the preservation of the facilities.

The sponsor of the ceremony, Prof. Marcel Bonkian, also a son of the locality, congratulated all the people who worked to achieve this jewel. In order for the infrastructure to improve the living conditions of grassroots populations, Mr. Bonkian invited everyone to take ownership of “this common good”.

Patron of the ceremony, the High Commissioner, Issiaka Segda, thanked PADEL for its “tireless efforts” in improving the living conditions of the populations in general and in particular those of the province of Tuy. Mr. Segda said that if this jewel is exploited in a rational and planned way, it will be an effective means of fighting poverty. Thus, he urged the users of the structure to preserve the quality of the installations.

During the ceremony, the members of the COGES of the new bus station were introduced and each of them received a certificate from PADEL.
