Sourou: The municipal high school of Tougan emerged victorious in the 3rd edition of the Sports and Cultural Organization of High Schools and Colleges in Sourou (OSCLC-S) by clinching the football trophy on Saturday. The United Youth Association for the Promotion of Culture and Sport in Sourou (AJUPCS-S) concluded the event on May 31, 2025, celebrating the spirit of competition and camaraderie among students.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the municipal high school of Tougan (LMT) defeated the communal high school of Tougan (LCT) in the football finals. The match ended in a penalty shootout, with LMT winning 5 to 3 after a goalless draw at the end of regulation time. The competition aimed to foster interaction among secondary schools in the province through sports and cultural activities, promoting social cohesion among students amidst the prevailing circumstances in Burkina Faso, as highlighted by the association’s president, Mikalou Traor©.
The event’s chairman, Issa To©, praised the initiative and commended the organizers for their efforts in making the edition successful. He encouraged them to continue their work for the benefit of the students in the province. Wendyam Martial Ou©draogo, the Secretary General of the province, representing the High Commissioner, emphasized the significance of such activities, noting that they contribute to the well-being of the population beyond just the awards.
The cultural segment of the competition saw the dance troupe from the Tougan provincial high school securing victory. The 3rd edition of the OSCLC-S received patronage from the High Commissioner of the province, D©sir© Badolo, and was presided over by the Provincial Director of Secondary Education and Vocational and Technical Training, Joseph Karambiri.
