MTC launches Tech Innovation Bazaar

The NUST High-Tech Transfer Plaza Select (HTTPS) and Mobile Telecommunications Limited (MTC) have teamed up to host the MTC Tech Innovation Bazaar in Windhoek from 15 to 17 November.

The event, to be held under the theme ‘Digital inclusivity through innovation,’ aims to showcase cutting-edge technologies and innovations driving the fourth and fifth industrial revolutions.

The MTC Tech Innovation Bazaar will display technologies and inventions with the potential to revolutionise various industries, focusing specifically on enhancing digital inclusivity. By bringing together diverse participants, including investors, industry stakeholders, mentors, partners, and innovators, the event aims to incubate and integrate ideas into the market.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, Nawa Likando, MTC’s Head of Digital Transformation and Innovation, said the MTC Tech Innovation Bazaar demonstrates the company’s commitment to fostering a culture of digital inclusivity.

‘At MTC, we believe in the power of innovat
ion to drive positive change. By collaborating with ICTechHub and NUST, we are creating a platform where groundbreaking ideas can thrive and contribute to the advancement of technology in Namibia and beyond,’ Likando said.

He noted that innovators will have the opportunity to present their projects and ideas to potential investors, opening doors for funding and support to drive their innovations to fruition. The event will exhibit cutting-edge technologies, prototypes and innovative solutions with the potential to revolutionize various industries.

‘At the event, aspiring startups and innovators will pitch their ideas to a panel of judges and potential investors, vying for support to turn their visions into reality,’ Likando added.

He encouraged creatives and innovators to submit their ideas and participate in the MTC Tech Innovation Bazaar online by 13 October 2023.

Likando specified the areas for consideration as environmental, tourism, arts and culture, education, youth and social services, finance, tra
de and commerce, health, ICT, labour, works, industrial relations, employment creation, urban-rural development, justice, gender equality, child protection and defence.
