Nanyuki: Laikipia East Member of Parliament Mwangi Kiunjuri has urged the Mt. Kenya region to embrace the broad-based government to foster development. Speaking in Nanyuki during the issuance of bursaries, Kiunjuri noted that the broad-based government represented the face of Kenya.
According to Kenya News Agency, Kiunjuri emphasized that the broad-based government includes every community in Kenya. He remarked on the past year’s political struggles following the last elections, highlighting how the nation is now united. Kiunjuri pointed out the previous political disunity during elections but noted that the handshake between former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Orange Democratic Party (ODM) leader brought peace to the country, underscoring the importance of embracing a broad-based government.
The Service Party leader also criticized Mt. Kenya politicians for promoting a hostile agenda towards President Dr. William Ruto, warning that such actions would impede the region’s development. He urged Laikipia residents to collaborate with the current government for progress.
Additionally, Kiunjuri stressed that leaders would be evaluated based on their track records, thus advocating for patience and support for area MPs to achieve developmental goals in the remaining period.
