Luanda: The vice-president of the MPLA, Mara Quiosa, reaffirmed on Saturday her unconditional support for the party leader, Joo Louren§o, at the end of a political march held in the province of Luanda. The event brought together leaders, militants, and supporters of the party, including the first provincial secretary of the MPLA in Luanda, Lus Nunes, members of the Central Committee, and representatives of youth structures and grassroots organizations.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Mara Quiosa stated that the march was 'an unequivocal declaration' of support from the militants for President Joo Louren§o. She emphasized that similar initiatives took place in several provinces of the country. The leader noted that the Angolan people took to the streets to demonstrate confidence in the leadership of the Head of State, whom she considered committed to defending national interests and seeking solutions to the main social problems of the population.
The official also called for unity and cohesion among party members around the party and its leadership, advocating for strengthening internal organization in the face of future political challenges. Lus Nunes highlighted that Angola is experiencing a period demanding responsibility, stability, and leadership, underscoring President Joo Louren§o's role in leading economic and social reforms underway in the country.
Nunes stated that the Executive is implementing measures aimed at combating corruption, reorganizing the State, diversifying the economy, and strengthening social programs in the health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure sectors. "Comrade President Joo Louren§o has chosen the path of responsibility and building solid foundations for lasting development," he declared.
During the event, the leaders also advocated for strengthening political mobilization and youth participation in view of the upcoming electoral challenges and strengthening the party's structures.
