Moussa Dieni Appointed Head of Basic Education District in Douroula

Mouhoun: A new chapter begins for the Basic Education District (CEB) of Douroula as Inspector Moussa Dieni officially takes over leadership responsibilities.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the installation ceremony was conducted by Maxime Bakouan, President of the special delegation of the commune of Douroula, on Monday, December 1, 2025.

Inspector Moussa Dieni succeeds Hilaire Dioma, who led the district for four years. During his tenure, Dioma faced significant challenges, including a difficult security situation that necessitated a temporary relocation of the CEB to Dedougou. Despite these challenges, he managed to ensure continuity in educational services, which ultimately led to an increase in the CEP success rate from 42.05% in 2022 to 93.75% in 2025. Dioma credited this success to the resilience and dedication of the educational staff, highlighting the crucial role of teachers in maintaining standards and achieving academic excellence.

The outgoing CCEB expressed gratitude to the special delegation's President for steadfast support and praised the teaching staff for their dedication. Dioma emphasized the importance of resilience and collaboration, particularly during challenging times, and expressed his appreciation for the support received during his tenure.

The newly appointed CCEB, Moussa Dieni, who previously served in Bondokuy, conveyed his gratitude to ministerial authorities for the trust placed in him. He expressed his commitment to fulfilling his new role and called for continued collaboration among all education stakeholders to further strengthen the quality of education in the region.

Boureima Konate, the provincial director of basic education in Mouhoun, commended both Dioma and Dieni for their hard work and dedication. He awarded them certificates of merit and emphasized the critical role of leadership in driving the success of educational initiatives. Konate urged the new CCEB to exhibit proactive and engaged leadership to meet the evolving needs of the educational sector.

Maxime Bakouan, the special delegation's President, expressed regret over Dioma's departure, acknowledging his significant contributions to the municipality's educational resilience. He also extended a certificate of recognition to Dioma for his services.

In his address to Dieni, Bakouan urged the new leader to leverage his experience to further the municipality's educational goals, particularly focusing on reopening schools affected by security issues.
