Ouagadougou: Moussa Alex Sawadogo has been appointed as the Director General of the Burkinabe Agency for Cinematography and Audiovisual.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Burkinabe Agency for Cinematography and Audiovisual Media was established in November 2024. This agency was formed through the merger of several entities, including the General Directorate of the Higher Institute of Image and Sound (ISIS), the General Directorate of FESPACO, the technical secretariat of the National Center for Cinematography and Audiovisual Media, and the Directorate of Cinematography and Audiovisual Media.
The formation of this agency marks a significant organizational change in the landscape of Burkinabe cinema and audiovisual media. Sawadogo’s appointment is expected to bring leadership to this newly established entity as it seeks to enhance the development and promotion of the country’s cinematic and audiovisual sectors.
