Mouhoun: The President of the Special Delegation of Tcheriba municipality, Ousseni Logora, led the fourth ordinary session of the municipality, focusing on adjusting taxes to enhance economic performance. The session, held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, covered a five-point agenda aimed at reviewing and improving the municipality's financial strategies.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the session commenced with the examination and adoption of the minutes from the previous meeting, followed by a review of the report from the authorizing officer. An initial budget for 2026, amounting to 89,687,395 CFA francs, was presented, analyzed, and adopted, addressing both operational and investment needs.
Key resolutions included revising the pricing for the occupation of public spaces. Service stations are now required to pay 25,000 F per pump annually, while kiosks and leisure areas occupying large spaces face a charge of 500 F per square meter for areas exceeding 10 m². Street vendors will incur a daily fee of 2,000 CFA francs, and market space occupation fees will range from 25 to 100 CFA francs, contingent on the category. Advertising panels are also subjected to these new rates.
Ousseni Logora emphasized that these adjustments aim to bolster municipal revenues amid a suspension in the redistribution of mining funds to local authorities, ultimately improving the municipality's economic performance.
Additionally, the session highlighted miscellaneous items, where Mr. Logora expressed gratitude towards the Belgian Development Agency (Enabel) for their support in enhancing access to drinking water through household and administrative service connections. Public subscription lists are now available at the town hall.
Tributes were also paid to the second vice-president of the special delegation, Dembele Karim, who has transitioned from an inspector at the CEB of Tcheriba to CCEB of Safane. In his closing remarks, Ousseni Logora urged local stakeholders to amplify their efforts towards community development, with a particular appeal to tax collectors to bolster mobilization for the completion of priority projects. These projects include the construction of a maternity ward, the Oualou CSPS, rehabilitation of the Sao community health post, and the building and refurbishment of classrooms.
