Ouagadougou: The youth of the commune of Tch©riba now have their Communal Executive Bureau (BEC). The seven members of this body were elected and officially installed on Monday, July 20, 2026, during an assembly chaired by the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the commune, Ouesseni Logora, in his capacity as head of the administrative district.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this operation is part of the application of the interministerial decree establishing the creation, powers, composition, and operation of the National Consultative Youth Council of Burkina Faso (CNCJ-BF). In total, seven applications were received by the municipal department responsible for the promotion and professional integration of young people. After review, one application was rejected due to non-compliance of the receipt from the association concerned.

As the candidates had indicated the positions applied for in their files, in accordance with the applicable regulations, the appointments were made by acclamation. The first six positions were filled without difficulty. However, the position of secretary in charge of sustainable development and environmental issues remained vacant due to a lack of applicants.

In order to allow the complete establishment of the office, the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Tch©riba, Ouesseni Logora, proposed to the assembly to retain the candidacy initially rejected, in the absence of another applicant. This proposal was unanimously approved, thus completing the leadership team in a climate of consensus.

Following his election as president of the municipal executive office, Touahou Bako praised the transparency of the electoral process. He invited all the young people of the municipality to unite their efforts around the actions of the office in order to promote local development and participatory governance. The PDS, for its part, expressed its satisfaction with the way the operations were conducted.

He highlighted the inclusive nature of the office, marked by the presence of two young women, which he described as an encouraging sign for increased participation of women in decision-making bodies and local governance. The Tch©riba Municipal Youth Executive Bureau is now called upon to serve as an interface between young people and administrative and municipal authorities, while contributing to the mobilization of youth around the socio-economic development actions of the municipality.
