Mouhoun: The populations of the villages of Ouakara, Bwan, and Syn in the commune of Bondoukuy mobilized on Monday, May 18, 2026, for community work to rehabilitate and develop the road linking the Bwan crossroads to the village of Yaho through Ouakara. This effort underscored the community's solidarity and civic engagement.
According to Burkina Information Agency, men and women gathered in large numbers to restore the usability of this strategic route. The road is crucial for the mobility of populations, the evacuation of agricultural products, and the strengthening of socio-economic exchanges within the locality. The municipal authorities, led by Lazare Bado, the President of the special delegation of the municipality of Bondoukuy, participated in the initiative by offering physical, moral, and financial support, demonstrating their commitment to addressing the concerns of the local populace.
This community-driven effort takes place in anticipation of the Ouahabou-Bondoukuy road paving project, which is part of the development actions initiated by the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore. Participants expressed appreciation for the dedication of the Ouakara Economic, Social and Cultural Recovery Committee (CRESCO), the Village Development Committee (CVD), the Seenimi Association of Ouakara Residents (SARO), and the Wioloho citizen watch actors of Ouakara for their significant contributions to this day of road rehabilitation and sanitation.
Acknowledgment was also given to the provincial directorate of infrastructure and housing of Mouhoun for their technical support in carrying out the works. Through this initiative, the communities of the three villages reaffirmed their commitment to the values of solidarity, self-reliance, and patriotism, emphasizing that local development primarily depends on the engagement of grassroots communities.
