Bondoukuy: The people of Bondoukuy turned out in large numbers on Monday, August 3, 2026, for the monthly flag-raising ceremony, presided over by Lazare Bado, President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Bondoukuy municipality. This mobilization reflects the citizens' support for the authorities' call to strengthen civic responsibility, patriotism, and social cohesion.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the solemn raising of the national colors took place at the prefecture of Bondoukuy in the presence of administrative authorities, the Defence and Security Forces (FDS), the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP), public service officials, and a large delegation of the population. The ceremony, established on the first working Monday of each month, commenced precisely at 7 o'clock with the signal to raise the national colors while performing the national anthem, the Ditany¨, sung in French.

The event emphasized the symbols of the State and the values of civic duty and patriotism. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Lazare Bado praised the strong mobilization of the people and expressed gratitude to all participants for their commitment. He highlighted the initiative led by the highest authorities of Burkina Faso, which aims to consolidate the sense of belonging to the Nation, promote civic-mindedness, and strengthen patriotic values within communities.

Lazare Bado also encouraged the people to preserve social cohesion, cultivate forgiveness, and foster living together in peace. He urged the security forces, the VDP, and the residents to maintain vigilance and efforts to secure the commune, despite the gradual return of calm. The PDS acknowledged the strong participation of young people from Tankuy, who attended in large numbers, marking the official launch of the "72 Hours of Youth" activities in the locality. He expressed hopes for a celebration under the banner of citizenship, responsibility, and respect for republican values.

The ceremony concluded with exchanges of pleasantries and wishes for a safe journey home from the prefect to the participants, alongside wishes for an excellent start to the week.
