D©dougou: The city of D©dougou hosted an awareness-raising panel on Saturday, December 27, 2025, which brought together key stakeholders from the Bankui region. The proceedings were chaired by the regional governor, Babo Pierre Bassinga, who called upon the population to demonstrate a resolute and unwavering commitment to the Progressive and Popular Revolution (RPP).
According to Burkina Information Agency, the meeting was placed under the banner of civic reflection and collective action. It provided an opportunity to discuss major themes related to the country's current challenges, including the fight against imperialism and the historical responsibility of the Burkinab¨ people in the success of the progressive and popular Revolution.
Speaking on the theme of the fight against imperialism, the panelist, the Vice-President in charge of monitoring development issues of the National Commission of the Confederation of Sahel States and President of the Gathering of Intelligences for the Sovereignty of Africa (RISA), Dr. Adama Siguir©, emphasized that this struggle is a continuation of Burkina Faso's history, marked by the ongoing quest for dignity, sovereignty, and self-determination.
Dr. Siguir© highlighted that imperialism, in its various forms, remains a persistent threat to developing countries, obstructing their ability to freely decide their future and fully realize their potential. He stressed the need for collective awareness and increased citizen vigilance against mechanisms of external domination.
He further emphasized the importance of civic education and public awareness as essential tools for an informed understanding of the issues and organized resistance. Dr. Siguir© urged every Burkinabe to embrace this fight, believing that defending national sovereignty is a shared responsibility crucial for endogenous development, aligned with the people's deep aspirations.
The second theme, concerning the people's responsibility in the success of the progressive and popular revolution, was central to the discussions. The panelist reminded everyone that public policy should not solely be the authorities' domain but fundamentally rely on citizens' support, active participation, and constant commitment.
He noted that the ongoing revolution extends beyond a mere change of governance, calling for a profound transformation of mentalities, behaviors, and social practices. In this context, Dr. Siguir© emphasized core values such as solidarity, social justice, equality, and patriotism, which should guide citizens' daily actions.
He encouraged participants to become more involved in community life, stressing that real change occurs at the grassroots level, in villages, neighborhoods, and workplaces. For him, the success of the RPP depends on inclusive mobilization, without exclusion or discrimination, to build a strong, prosperous, and respected Burkina Faso for present and future generations.
Dr. Siguir© also affirmed that the Burkinabe people are now bound by an obligation of results in the implementation and completion of the progressive and popular revolution. He urged participants to translate the principles and guidelines from this panel into their daily actions to contribute concretely to the country's social, economic, and political transformation.
Organised by the Gathering of Intelligences for the Sovereignty of Africa (RISA), this panel aimed to serve as a platform for honest and constructive exchanges, reaffirming the people's central role in determining their destiny. The ensuing debates highlighted D©dougou's people's determination to pursue the struggle for Burkina Faso's emancipation, sovereignty, and lasting prosperity within the progressive and popular revolution framework.
