Mouhoun: The Muslim community of Bondokuy celebrated, on the night of Monday, March 16, 2026, the Night of Destiny (Laylat al-Qadr), one of the greatest nights of devotion in Islam, corresponding to the 27th day of the blessed month of Ramadan. On this occasion, a large turnout of worshippers was recorded in the various mosques and places of prayer in the town, where religious fervor and contemplation reigned.
According to Burkina Information Agency, during this spiritual vigil, believers devoted themselves to reading the Holy Quran, supplications, and night prayers. Considered, according to Islamic teachings, as "better than a thousand months," the Night of Destiny commemorates the revelation of the first verses of the Quran to the Prophet Muhammad. It therefore constitutes a privileged moment for the faithful to implore divine forgiveness, mercy, and blessings.
During this night of prayer, blessings were offered for the Muslim community, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), who are committed to preserving the integrity of the national territory. The faithful also offered prayers for the highest authorities in the country, including the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traore, and his government, imploring wisdom and success in the conduct of public affairs.
Beyond individuals, the entire Burkinab¨ nation was invoked in prayer, with supplications for the return of peace, the strengthening of social cohesion, and the consolidation of stability. This celebration, marked by a large turnout, illustrates once again the central role of faith and solidarity in the resilience of populations in the face of current challenges.
In Bondokuy, the Night of Destiny was thus an intense moment of spiritual communion, bringing hope for a peaceful future.
