Mouhoun: The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Douroula municipality, Maxime Bakouan, officially launched the sports and cultural activities for the current school year, emphasizing the theme of "Promoting the patriotic education of children through sports and cultural activities." The event was sponsored by Adjara Sandrine Kient©ga/Ou©draogo, the Secretary General of the Bankui region.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this year's sports and cultural competitions in the Douroula Basic Education District (CEB) focus on enhancing patriotic education, social cohesion, and student development through sports and culture. The inauguration featured a friendly match between the Franco-Arab school and the Douroula B public primary school, with Douroula B emerging victorious with a 2-1 score.
Moussa Dieni, Head of the Basic Education District of Douroula, expressed gratitude to the authorities for their support and praised the dedication of educational staff who continue their efforts despite security challenges. He highlighted the alignment of the theme with the vision of the President of Faso, advocating for a return to fundamental national values to establish lasting sovereignty.
Dieni emphasized the importance of sports and cultural activities in student development, noting their therapeutic benefits in fostering resilience and addressing psychological impacts of the security crisis. Maxime Bakouan, PDS of Douroula, encouraged educational and community stakeholders to actively participate in ensuring the success of the competitions, underscoring the role of sports in enhancing physical and mental well-being.
Kient©ga/Ou©draogo, the ceremony's patron, acknowledged the resilience of education stakeholders and the efforts of Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in restoring peace and enabling educational activities. She emphasized that education should extend beyond academics to include sports and culture for social integration and patriotic awakening.
