Mouhoun Association Launches Mass Sport for Civic Responsibility and Social Cohesion

Mouhoun: The Bondokuy Commune Workers' Association has instituted a regular mass sports activity every Saturday, with the aim of promoting physical health, strengthening social cohesion, and consolidating civic spirit among the workers and populations of the commune.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the program for this initiative includes a weekly brisk walk. The last Saturday of each month is dedicated to a fun run, followed by an aerobics session. Activities begin at 6:00 a.m. for a minimum distance of eight kilometers.

This Saturday, January 17, 2026, the sports session took place in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere, marked by an appreciable participation of workers and several residents of the municipality, thus reflecting the progressive support of the population for this initiative deemed beneficial.

The organizers emphasize that beyond physical fitness, mass sport provides a privileged setting for social cohesion and the promotion of civic values, including discipline, solidarity, and mutual respect.

It is worth noting that this activity benefits from the support and encouragement of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and the Prefect of the Bondokuy Department, whose support helps strengthen the event's civic impact.

Through this initiative, the municipality of Bondokuy reaffirms its commitment to the well-being of its people, social cohesion, and community solidarity, while inviting all citizens to embrace this sporting event as a space for gathering and social cohesion.
