Mother and Daughter Arrested in Bohlokong Kidnapping Case

BOHLOKONG – In a recent development, Bohlokong police have arrested a mother and her daughter in connection with the alleged kidnapping of a young man who remains missing. This case also involves six other suspects who are currently being pursued by authorities.

According to South African Police Service, the Free State Search and Rescue K9 Unit, in collaboration with the Bohlokong police, conducted a search on November 23 and 24, 2023, for the missing young man. He was reportedly kidnapped on Monday, November 20, 2023, by a group of eight individuals, including the arrested mother and daughter. These individuals accused him of stealing property from a house in the area.

The young man was last seen by his mother on November 20, around 14:00, when two women and six men confronted her, alleging her son had stolen their property. Following his disappearance, police received community information indicating that the young man was spotted inside the Liebenbergsvlei river, clinging to a tree. Despite the Search and Rescue team conducting two searches, they were unable to locate him. The search operation was hindered due to the river conditions and is scheduled to resume on Monday, November 27, 2023.

The two female suspects are set to appear before the Bethlehem Magistrates’ Court on Monday, November 27, 2023. They will face charges of kidnapping and defeating the ends of justice in relation to this ongoing case.
