Moscow Vows to Shoot Down F-16 Fighters Over Ukraine

Moscow: The head of the Russian delegation to the Vienna talks on military security and arms control, Konstantin Gavrilov, stated that Russian armed forces will shoot down F-16 aircraft if they fly over Ukrainian territory. This announcement comes amid rising tensions over military aid to Ukraine by various Western countries.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Russia views the provision of F-16 fighters by certain countries as a significant security threat. He specifically cited comments from the acting Dutch Defense Minister, Kajsa Ollongren, who recently mentioned that the Netherlands would transfer 24 F-16 fighters to Ukraine. Ollongren asserted that once these aircraft are delivered, Ukraine would be free to use them, including for operations potentially extending into Russian territory. This development has escalated the stakes in the ongoing conflict, underscoring the serious warnings issued by Russia to what it describes as "unfriendly countries."
