Moscow is asking the French authorities to apply the same regime to Russian media from which French media benefit in Russia. This is what follows from the press release from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs concerning the summoning of the French ambassador to Moscow Pierre Lévy.
Moscow said that “discrimination by Russian media in France was part of a political campaign aimed at fighting another way of thinking and which had been initiated well before the special military operation led by Russia in Ukraine.” Moscow asks the French authorities to ‘stop exerting pressure and discriminating against Russian media, to stop labeling and to respect, in relation to Russian media, the same regime from which French media benefit in Russia’.
