Morocco to Expand Sugar Plant Cultivation by 23,000 Hectares for 2023/2024

Morocco has laid out plans to markedly increase its sugar plant cultivation area by 23,000 hectares, taking the total to 57,000 hectares for the 2023/2024 agricultural season.

According to a new release, sugar beet will account for 54,000 hectares of this increased plantation, while the remaining 3,000 hectares will be dedicated to sugar cane cultivation. This expansion will mobilize an investment of more than 500 million dirhams ($48 million).
