Morocco and Burkina Faso Forge New Military Cooperation Agreement

RABAT— In a significant move to bolster military collaboration, Morocco and Burkina Faso signed a new cooperation agreement this Wednesday. The signing, held in Rabat, was attended by Morocco’s Minister Delegate in charge of the National Defense Administration, Abdeltif Loudyi, and Burkina Faso’s Minister of State, Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs, General Kassoum Coulibaly.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this agreement was signed in line with the highest royal directives, aiming to deepen and diversify bilateral relations between the two nations. The session was marked by General Coulibaly's visit to Morocco, which included discussions on various aspects of military cooperation such as training, technical support, and military health.

The cooperation spans multiple areas of mutual interest, reflecting the broader strategic initiatives led by Morocco's monarchy. Loudyi emphasized the kingdom’s intent to transform the Atlantic coast of Africa into a hub of economic integration and stability. The agreement also focuses on enhancing military capabilities through joint exercises, expert exchanges, and health initiatives.

General Coulibaly highlighted the importance of this partnership, noting Morocco's pivotal role in regional stability and development in Africa. The talks concluded with a mutual commitment to further solidify their military ties, underscoring the long-standing friendship and respect between the two nations.
