Monsignor Relwende Kisito Ouedraogo Appointed as the Pope’s Representative to Congo-Brazzaville

Vatican city: Pope Leo XIV appointed Monsignor Relwende Kisito Ouedraogo as Apostolic Nuncio to the Republic of Congo on Wednesday, simultaneously elevating him to the titular see of Ilta with the dignity of Archbishop, the Holy See announced.

According to Burkina Information Agency, until his appointment, Archbishop Relwende Kisito Ouedraogo served as an official in the Section for General Affairs of the Vatican Secretariat of State, where he has been working since January 11, 2010.

Born on April 9, 1972, in Gourcy, Burkina Faso, Archbishop Ouedraogo was ordained a priest on December 3, 2000, and is incardinated in the Diocese of Ouahigouya. He holds a licentiate in liturgy.

The new archbishop is fluent in French, English, Italian, and German.
