Mombasa County Government Initiates Feeding Programme for Examination Candidates

Mombasa – In a bid to enhance concentration and alleviate disruptions for candidates during the KCPE (Kenya Certificate of Primary Education) and KPSEA (Kenya Primary School Education Assessment) examinations, the County Government of Mombasa has launched a comprehensive feeding programme in all primary schools within its jurisdiction.

According to Kenya News Agency, a volunteer from Nyali Sub-County actively participating in the food distribution process, the programme has been met with positive reactions from both parents and teachers. Nzaro expressed his gratitude towards the governor, highlighting the latter’s dedication to supporting Mombasa’s students during this pivotal exam period.

The County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Education and Digital Transformation, Mr. Mbwarali Kame, highlighted the programme’s successful implementation across all public and special schools in Mombasa. Dr. Kame also shared future expansion plans for the programme, which include the establishment of additional kitchens in the Nyali, Changamwe, Kisauni, and Likoni areas. During his visit to the Soul Harvest area in Nyali, he commended the governor for his steadfast commitment to the feeding programme, a commitment that dates back to his tenure as a Member of Parliament for the Mvita constituency.

Deputy Head Teacher of Mombasa Primary School, Mr. Mbogo William, extended his appreciation to the county government for their support, emphasizing the positive impact the food provision would have on the candidates during their examinations.
