Molo Sub-County Reports Smooth Commencement for Final KCPE and Ongoing KPSEA Examinations

Molo — The start of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) and the Grade Six examination, known as the Kenya Primary School Examination Assessment (KPSEA), has been marked by diligent preparation and collaboration between education and security officers in Molo Sub-County.

According to Kenya News Agency, Molo Sub-County Director of Education, a total of 4,709 candidates will sit for the KPSEA exam at 80 centers. Of these, 679 candidates are from private schools and 4,030 are from public schools.

For the KCPE examination, Musikoyo disclosed that 5,003 students will participate across 76 centers. The pool consists of 669 candidates from private schools and 4,334 from public schools. Notably, there have been no instances of students failing to appear for their exams.

This year holds particular significance as it marks the final administration of the KCPE examination. The country is transitioning to the full implementation of the competency-based curriculum (CBC). “This is a heroic move the country has taken in the education sector, equipping students with evolving world skills through the skill-based curriculum,” Musikoyo noted.

Ngura Mwamachi, Molo Deputy County Commissioner, who oversaw the opening and distribution of the examinations, assured the candidates that everything is in place for the exams to proceed smoothly until the last day. Both the KCPE and KPSEA examinations began today and are expected to conclude later in the week.

The combined efforts of education and security officers in Molo Sub-County are aimed at ensuring the successful administration of these pivotal exams under the new education curriculum.
