Mogadishu, Somalia – The capital city of Somalia recently hosted the Intergovernmental DGs and District Coordination Forum, a significant event aimed at enhancing cooperation and teamwork among different levels of government in the Banadir region. The forum was also a celebration of the lifting of the United Nations arms embargo on Somalia, which had been in place since 1992.

According to Somali National News Agency, Yussuf Hussein Madalo, the mayor of Mogadishu, inaugurated the forum and welcomed officials from the Banadir Regional Administration and district commissioners. The mayor also expressed jubilation over the removal of the arms embargo, viewing it as a major accomplishment for the Somali people and a demonstration of trust from the international community.
