Moctar Ilboudo Installed as New High Commissioner of Kourittenga Province

KOUPÉLA — Moctar Ilboudo was officially installed as the new high commissioner of Kourittenga Province on Monday, August 19, 2024, during a ceremony held in Koupéla.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the installation was overseen by Sayouba Sawadogo, Secretary General of the Center-East region. Ilboudo, a civil administrator, takes over from Aissata Angélina Traoré, who served as the high commissioner for four years. Ilboudo, who was appointed by the Council of Ministers on July 31, 2024, had previously served as the secretary general of Kourittenga Province for two years.

The handover ceremony was attended by provincial officials, associations, NGOs, customary and religious authorities, and local residents. In his remarks, Ilboudo expressed his commitment to collaborating with all partners to ensure the success of his mission. "We reassure ourselves of our availability to serve in the best interests of our province and our nation in accordance with the ideals of the transition," he stated, calling for collective mobilization to address the challenges facing the province.

Outgoing High Commissioner Aissata Angélina Traoré commended the cooperation she received during her tenure and encouraged Ilboudo to continue the mission with the same dedication. Secretary General Sayouba Sawadogo offered his support to Ilboudo, expressing confidence in his ability to succeed in his new role given his familiarity with the province.
